3,900-Mile 2001 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe
Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
After the successful fifteen-year run of the fourth-generation Corvette, GM released the most radically redesigned version of America’s sports car since its inception in 1953. The new C5 was stiffer and lighter than the previous generation C4 due to the innovative use of hydroformed frame rails and featured a transaxle that improved not only the weight distribution but also increased interior space. Other new features included a drive-by-wire throttle and a variable effort power steering system, but most notably, the C5 would introduce the world to the now legendary all-aluminum ‘LS’ V8 engine. All of this created a sports car that was innovative in construction, comfortable, and, most importantly, a true performer.
