1980 Pontiac Firebird Video
Description
The second generation Pontiac Firebird was launched in late 1970, just as the muscle car era was starting to come to an end. With increasing mandates regarding safety and emission standards, the Firebird evolved to keep the excitement alive, with the corporate slogan now saying 'more Pontiac Excitement to the Gallon.' This excitement even led to the development of a turbo-charged 301 cu-in V8, making it the first turbocharged production V8 of the 1980s. A smattering of other performance-oriented V8s remained available for the more traditional buyers. Today these cars offer an excellent entry point into collector cars with seemingly endless ways to maintain their original features or create a custom-modified example - just like this 1980 Firebird.
