Description
Simplify and add lightness. This ethos has guided Lotus since Colin Chapman founded the company. Creating a proper lightweight sports car is no easy task today with increasing standard requirements for crash and safety standards, but Lotus engineers were able to prevail with a curb weight of just under 2,000 lbs. The ever-reliable Toyota 2ZZ-GE 1.8 L four-cylinder produces 190 hp, which is capable of accelerating the Elise to 60 mph in under 5.0 seconds. The Elise is a car that eggs the driver on to push it to the limits, making it the ideal vehicle for a weekend track day, autocross, or a blast through twisty backroads.
