Description
When designer Wolfgang Möbius penned the lines for the 1977 launch of the 928, he was leading Porsche into uncharted territory. Designed as a luxury GT, the 928 featured an all-new 316 horsepower, water-cooled 5.0-liter V8 engine placed at the front that was paired with an automatic or manual transaxle for improved weight distribution. Aluminum body panels with a futuristic low coefficient of drag allowed created an effortless autobahn stormer. The striking design featured popup headlights behind fully integrated bumpers. This futuristic theme continued on the interior with a driver-centric center console with an adjustable dashboard instrumentation. Generous 2+2 seating offered rear seats that could be folded flat, increasing storage capacity for a weekly grocery run or additional luggage on an extended continental excursion.
