TR3A Cold Start Video TR3A Drive Video
Instantly recognizable by its wide-mouth grill, the “TR3A” as it is known by Triumph aficionados is a TR3 built after 1957, following a facelift of the wildly popular British sports car. Quick, lightweight, and relatively inexpensive, the TR3A outperformed contemporary MGs and Austin Healeys all while enjoying surprising reliability, making it America’s best selling imported sports car. This is an excellent example of the iconic TR platform, finished today in striking Signal Red paintwork over a black vinyl interior. The classic color combination is enhanced by a set of chrome wire wheels with knock-offs and gleaming chrome trim pieces. The inline 1991cc four-cylinder engine is correct to the car, and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Mechanical improvements of note include a clutch replacement at 57,000 miles, an upgraded positive-ground electrical system, a spin-on oil filter conversion, and modern halogen headlights. This well-kept driver is an ideal example for club events and touring.
