Upon debut in the 1997 model year, the Boxster – Porsche’s first new model in close to 15 years – was an instant success not only for its nimble handling and 550 Spyder-inspired looks but its excellent build quality as well. Just four years later, Porsche once again satisfied their discerning fan base with a highly anticipated Sport model aptly named the Boxster S. The “S” added more than a letter to the nameplate with a 3.2-liter Boxster S engine producing 30 additional horsepower over the standard model.
