1980 Porsche 911 RSR Style Backdate Cold Start and Walk Around Video
Description
Long seen as the perfect starting point for motorsport-inspired builds, the 3.0-liter 911 SC coupe (1978-1983) retains the classic 911 shape without any of the early 911 drawbacks. Subtle, important upgrades were incorporated into the 911 SC including unibody galvanization, chassis reinforcements, and aluminum suspension components. In fact, this RSR backdate built from a 1980 911 SC by KMW Motorsports of Boca Raton, Florida proves this point with aplomb. All manner of the best aftermarket Porsche parts have been chosen for this build including MOMO, OMP, GTS Classics, Brembo, fifteen52, Clewett, MSD, and Guard. These parts are artfully combined with the beautiful RSR silhouette, crafted in fiberglass, and finished in period-correct Birch Green (lichtgrün). Additionally, this lightweight – only 2300 lb once corner balanced – features mechanical rebuilds to both transmission and engine with the 3.0-liter receiving JE pistons, Pauter rods, and twin-plug ignition breathing through PMO carbs and a Dansk dual-outlet exhaust system.
