Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1957 Bonneville was the first Pontiac to feel the effects of ambitious young executive "Bunkie" Knudsen's goals of crafting a fresh image for General Motors’ performance division. The newly launched Bonneville was based on the 1954 GM Motorama concept car and became the top-of-the-line Pontiac on offer with all of the deluxe features and flamboyant use of chrome throughout out as standard. It was the only Pontiac to feature Rochester mechanical fuel injection as standard. This newfound performance was befitting for a car named after the Salt Flats, known as the place to set blisteringly fast speed records. All of this luxury and performance resulted in increased production costs that brought the sticker price up to $5,782, placing it in competition with Cadillac and likely resulted in only 630 of these fantastic Bonnevilles being built.
