Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Known around the world for their legendary reliability, versatility, and all-terrain prowess, it's fair to say Toyota Land Cruisers are one of the single most universally loved 4x4 vehicles ever built. What began as Japan’s effort to clone the U.S. military Jeep later became Toyota’s best-selling model in America with importation of the J40 series beginning in 1963. Cosmetically, the FJ remained largely the same during its twenty-year production and was offered in various wheelbases and utility configurations, with a selection of straight-four and six-cylinder gas and diesel engines.
As Motor Trend reported, “What sets the FJ40 apart is its delightfully mechanical feel—the whine of the gears, the metallic thrum of the engine, the clank as the clutch pedal hits the metal floorboard. …It was clear that the FJ40 would be happy to surmount whatever obstacle we put under its tires, and all on pure mechanical gumption—no fancy electronics needed here, thank you very much.” Used in many different applications across the globe, the Toyota Land Cruiser maintains a devoted following of off-road enthusiasts thanks to its renowned dependability and rugged utilitarian appearance.
