1940 Chevrolet Special De Luxe Town Sedan
Description
To remain the best-selling auto manufacturer in America, Chevrolet debuted contemporary “Royal Clipper” styling across its model line for 1940. The range now consisted of the returning Master 85 and Master De Luxe trim levels, which was joined by a new, even better equipped Special De Luxe trim. Additional standard appointments on Special De Luxe models included additional stainless steel exterior molding, chrome window trim, a Deluxe T-spoke steering wheel, leather armrests, dual sun visors, and more. All were powered by the reliable “Victory Six” 216.5 cu-in inline-six rated at 85 horsepower mated to a three-speed manual transmission. Proving once again to be the most popular car in America that year with over 760,000 sold, the 1940 Chevrolet continues to be a robust and stylish mode of transportation.
